Profile

“A path is made by walking on it”, as Confucius aptly noted. This realisation has always been a guiding principle in my life – both privately and professionally: taking new paths, being proactive, trying things out, implementing, and if things go wrong, finding a new approach.

I love people and I love management, HR and coaching!

I have always been amazed at how much was discussed and how many strategies were defined before things got started and then what had been discussed at length could finally be implemented. Of course, I am not saying that strategies and concepts are a hindrance, because I too believe in sound analyses and clear definitions for setting and achieving goals and always contribute to them creatively. However, in many companies I observe that managers and employees do not approach problems pragmatically but hind behind strategies and concepts rather than starting to implement plans in a business-oriented manner. However, latent fear of responsibility hinders any beneficial corporate development.

Pragmatic implementation is important to me – I like to get things done, move forward and offer solutions to achieve goals!

At the age of just 22, I was promoted to a management position at an international company. Leading, coaching and advising people and teams has been a big part of my life up to this point.

I have also always had an interest in intercultural issues and have worked worldwide with my job.

I have often travelled to Asia on business, lived and worked on the east coast of the USA, enjoyed free time on the west coast, lived in many parts of Europe and travelled repeatedly to Africa, America, Australia and Asia because I enjoy travelling. I also enjoy working with people from other backgrounds, other nationalities and those from other cultures (e.g. expats).

Over the last 30 years, I have held various interesting specialist and management positions and have acquired extensive experience. And increasingly my path – in addition to my business focus – has moved towards leadership/coaching/consulting/case management/HR.

I have a particular interest in personal development. I have now reached the conclusion that the personal development of every manager and every employee is becoming increasingly important for the business world.

A person never stops learning, which is why I am particularly passionate about continuing my own education and adding to my qualifications as listed below:

  • Currently: E/MBA
  • WBK, Organisation advice with a focus on new organisation structures
